With you graduating and me remaining in college, I’m concerned about how life will be in a year. That scares me since you’ll officially be an adult with a job, coworkers, and interests aside from sports and school. Perhaps the word “frightening” isn’t quite appropriate, but it does make me consider the future, which is something I try to avoid considering because doing so conjures images of a world in which dynamics have changed and life has become more difficult.

This isn’t a final farewell, adieu, or goodbye. We’ll talk to you later. Because I am confident that regardless of whether I run across you next month, next year, or even ten years from now, I will continue to refer to you as my best friend, my napping partner, and my twin flame.
