Veterans Day Letter

Dear [mention the name],

I am writing this letter to tell you how much I and my sibling look up to you for all the sacrifices and bravery you have done and shown to protect our country as well as our freedom. Freedom can easily be taken for granted as we often forget how hard it is to achieve it, and you are one of those people who has done a lot to achieve that for all of us. Without you, we would not have had such a safe and sound life, or our great country would not have been able to survive the attacks of the enemy.

I come from a military family background myself. Ever since we were little, we have heard about you, your contribution to the two biggest wars from our parents. They told us, how you fought with courage and killed the enemies, and ever since then, both I and my younger sibling want to be like you someday. I have decided to join the military too and I have been mentally getting prepared to tell my parents before taking any solid steps.

I am sure that you are an inspiration to many people. Not everyone can lead such a tough life so bravely, knowing that they can be a martyr any day. I don’t know whether I have that kind of determination in me but what I do know is, that I want to serve the nation as you did, and just like you I want to do the best for my country.

On behalf of my entire family, I want to thank you from the very bottom of my heart. You always have our respect and you will always remain my hero, till the moment I die.

Once again, I would like to thank you for what you have given up to protect us.

Yours sincerely,

Thanking a Veteran Letter

Dear Mr. [mention the name],

I am writing this letter to thank you for all that you did for our country while you were in the military service. Even though I wasn’t even born at that time, I know how huge the sacrifice was. What all the military men have to go through to protect the nation from the bad intentions and attacks of the enemy.

My [mention the name of the family member] is in the military and I know what compromises one needs to make, being in this service. There is no such personal life, as the life of such a serviceman is entirely dedicated to the country, protecting the people. It is solely because of you people that ordinary people like us can live and sleep in peace.

I have heard so much about you and the more I got to know about you, my admiration increased with each passing day. I cannot tell you, or it is too difficult to express in words, how much I take you as my role model in life. The disciplined, selfless life that you have led your entire life isn’t an easy job and I truly respect you for that from the very bottom of my heart. Though I am a nobody, still, any word of praise won’t be enough I feel.

I am really glad that you are here with us now, that you are back safely. Losing such a great man would have been a huge loss for the entire country. You are a great hero and you will always be remembered for your acts of bravery. I wish to visit you someday and listen to the stories of war. Kindly let me know if that would be possible.

I hope you live the rest of your life with contentment, peace, and happiness.

Yours sincerely,

Letter to A Veteran to Thank

Dear [mention the position in the military or army],

Thank you so much for serving in the military for such a long time. You have shown what is the true meaning of words like ‘’bravery’’, ‘’selflessness’’, ‘’discipline’’. I can’t express in words, what I am feeling right now as I am writing this letter. So many emotions and sentiments are threatening to choke me and I am almost on the edge of crying.

Kids of this generation hardly understand what freedom is and how much you people have sacrificed, to what extent you have gone, and as a result, they often take liberty for granted. People don’t give you enough credit for your immense contribution. However, being the wife of a martyr, [mention the full name], I not only understand but appreciate wholeheartedly your willingness, dedication, and patriotism.

I am sure you have never thought about yourself, your happiness, or your peace, but have given your all for the people of this country. I can imagine how difficult it must have been to stay away from the ones and then after some time, to forget the ones that have been once close to you. To let go of all your personal wishes and wants to ensure that the citizens like us can sleep safe and sound is not something anyone can do.

I feel truly honored that I am able to send you this letter, to show my respect and admiration for you. Your family is very lucky to have a member like you in the family and I can only imagine their expressions, their happy faces when you safely returned home, though there are a few unlucky people who don’t get to feel that, who lost someone dear to them.

I wish you contentment, happiness, comfort, and many moments filled with joy, as you live the rest of your life with your beloved family.

Yours sincerely,
