The Paris Climate agreement is an agreement to slow down the process of global warming by making efforts to “ hold the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2 degrees above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increased to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels” this agreement means that countries wood contributes to bringing a decrease in global temperature rise.
Considering the environmental and natural surroundings of certain poor countries and Islands a lower gold request has been considered by the climate experts. This agreement had come into force on November 4, 2016. This agreement will also help to reduce the number of greenhouse gases emitted by human activities to a level that can be absorbed by trees Oceans and soil. The climate experts in volt have said that they will be able to achieve net-zero emissions between 2050 and 2100.
Developed countries were asked to provide financial resources to help developing countries and underdeveloped countries to deal with climate change and to take adaptive measures. A major feature of the Paris agreement is that it reflects the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities.
A few days ago the United States formally left the Paris climate agreement. However, on the same day, Joe Biden said that if they win the election in 2020 his administration would join the landmark accord in 77 days. Trump described the Paris agreement to be unfair to US interests. The environmentalist fiercely criticized this and accused him of exiting this agreement even though the US was the world’s second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases. Being a part of this agreement is essential not only for the US but also for the whole world as the US is one of the largest emitters of the world’s most dangerous gases.
The importance of this agreement can be seen from the fact that almost all countries on earth have signed this agreement. This support shows that the world has recognized that climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time and this agreement is one of good hope for addressing it. In agreeing to this, we can not only reduce emissions but also can provide financial support as the United States is the world’s biggest economy.
The Paris agreement could help more people from the US in getting jobs as sign in to this means that the country must shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy and solar and wind jobs in the US are growing at a very fast rate than the rest of the US economy. Climate change is not only about the environment. It is also about national security, health, and much more. As climate worsens there will be a lack of clean air and safe drinking water there may be deadly heatwaves, floods diseases, etc.
