Should Libraries Be Replaced with Unlimited Access to E-Books?

Books and libraries are always a pleasing experience. A library is a place where we can go to read a vast collection of books in various fields. It is a completely beautiful experience to go to a library, feel the texture of each book, smell them, the occasional feeling of bookmarking a book, and many more are never irreplaceable.

For many of us, books are also a form of decoration. Having a small library spot with a wonderful collection is always eye-pleasing.

A library consists of a vast collection from many years back. Many of these would get lost when shifted to e-books. A perpetual reader would always prefer to open a book and read through the big pages and find the exact words they are in search of.

However, with the changing world, many people prefer to have books right at their fingertips. Replacing libraries with unlimited access to ebooks comes with many advantages;

E-books are easily accessible and low budget. E-book access is completely at our fingertips; we can search, choose, buy, and read whenever and wherever we want. They are available 24*7, easily searchable by readers, and provide an easy way to download without any struggle.

We as a reader can avoid the difficulties of searching, and buying, and also avoid the high shipping cost towards places where books are not easily accessible. Digitized e-books are less expensive than traditional books. Could avoid the high cost that comes with printing, binding, distributing, and labor costs.

E-books provide better engagement with readers. Readers could get a better interpretation through more images, animations, and even sound effects. They can also set the font size, screen brightness, and day or night view according to their preferences. They can be read even at night.

E-books are more convenient and eco-friendly. Readers do not have to hunt various locations and libraries to find the right book, making it less energy and less time-consuming.

The formats are easily downloadable on all kinds of electronic gadgets. We can create an electronic library from which none of the collection can be lost. A smaller number of trees are cut for the paper that is used for making books.

E-books are portable, have a longer shelf life, and are easy to update. E-books can be stored in an e-reader and can be taken along with us anywhere we go. It can also be synchronized with the cloud to make it more portable. In case of any new updates in a book, order or format can be done easily. Paper can be degradable or spoiled by any accident, but e-books can be protected for life long.

Overall, e-books help to maintain an easier lifestyle and protect information throughout life. They might be unhealthy for our eyes if we overstrain reading through smaller font words for a longer time.

Even with all these benefits, libraries are always a beautiful experience to feel, with existing books to recall the old memories of reading them traditionally.
