Many of us are looking for jobs and hence applying for hundreds of interviews every month. Some of us might want a better-paying job than the current ones, and some would expect our fresher jobs to pay us more than what is currently being offered.

There are times when even after getting selected for jobs, we have to decline as the job pays less than what we are expecting or what we are currently being paid, and also if we have been offered a better job from another company at the same time. These are the times when we are supposed to decline job offers due to salary.

Dear Sir,

Greetings of the day!

I am really excited about the job offer I received from your company on April 24th, 2018, and have been pleased with the feedback that I got to hear during the entire interview process.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t agree with your offer of payment. I have a family of four people and I am the only earning member in my house. You have offered me a sum of $2800 a month, and I need a monthly $3200 given my portfolio and how my expertise in the subject can help your company meet your business goals.

Although this did not end the way we both would have liked, I would like us to stay in touch. Would it be fine, if I connected with you on LinkedIn to make it easier?

Last week was very good for me and I was really excited and thrilled to be a part of a team that works on cutting-edge technology it would have been a great pleasure for me to be a part of such an organization.

But in the morning I received a final call from your HR team and the salary which they quoted is way less than what we had discussed in the past. For the job, I would be changing my city and hence this much money won’t be adequate for me to take up the job.

I regret to inform you that though the role is amazing, I am not satisfied with the pay which is offered to me.

The whole specifications are good and I think that this is the role I wanted to get in for a very long time and I have done all my courses and up-gradation in my certificates keeping in mind these specifications of a technical role.

Though I regret to inform you that even after proving my worth in all the interviews and assignments, I am being marked according to my last drawn salary which was way less and I was less qualified at that point fo time. I was told in my interview that my past records won’t matter if I perform well in the assessments here. Though your email doesn’t follow it.

So I would like to inform you with regret that I won’t be joining the office as my expectations are not fulfilled.

Hello Robb,

It has been a great experience for me to be interviewed at P&G in the last month. It was through a post on LinkedIn through I got in touch with the recruitment team and got my interview done.

I am extremely thrilled to have received the offer letter as it is my dream job but what disappointed me was the salary slab. The post on LinkedIn showed that a person on that post will be paid $5000 dollars + incentives but here in the offer letter is quoted less and even the amenities or facilities that you are promising are not matching.

This salary is even lower than what I am currently withdrawing from my current organization and hence I feel I won’t be comfortable joining your team at P&G.

Looking forward to working with you in a better role with a better offer.

Hello Catherine,

I was so glad to finally receive the official offer letter from, your team.
The last week of mine has passed with so much anxiety because I really wanted to crack this interview up and when the letter came I felt victorious.

The disappointment that I got is the pay which was promised is not given to me. All through my interview process, I will be entitled to receive a payment of $6500 dollar and quarterly incentives as per my performance but what I am given here is straightway $1500 dollar less which doesn’t match my expectations.

As you must know that everybody with my experience is earning at least what I was promised so I feel that my worth is not measured properly and hence I will have to decline this offer of yours.
