Holiday Letter to Inform Death Template

A close family member of a friend of yours has died recently. It is your moral duty to attend his or her funeral and provide mental support to the immediate kin. In such a situation you shall need to inform your boss regarding the same and request him for granting you leave for a specified period.

To do so you shall have to write a letter to the concerned authority. We are here to help you do exactly that. Below are some letter samples that shall guide you.

Greetings of the day!

This letter is intended to keep you informed that an unfortunate event took place to one of us in [ insert the name of the sender’s organization]. One of our employees Mr./ Mrs./ Ms. [ insert the name of the concerned person] passed away on [ Insert the day of death] i.e. [ Insert the date of the concerned person’s death] on [ his/ her] due to an accident

On [ Insert the day of the concerned person’s death], while Mr./ Mrs./ Ms. [ insert the name of the concerned person] was on [ his/ her] way to the office, [ he/ she] was hit by a truck causing [ his/ her] death on the spot.

To mark the mourning of Mr./ Mrs./ Ms. [ insert the name of the concerned person]’s death, the office would remain shut for the next [ insert the time of the closure] days;  i.e. dated from [ Insert the start date of the closure] to [ insert the end date of the closure].

You may begin to resume your work at the office from [ Insert the date of opening the organization in DD- MM- YYYY] If by any case, there is an emergency work situation that would be requiring immediate attention, please feel to contact via email or phone at the undersigned contact details, and you will be guided to the concerned authorities.
