A Speech on Football Is a Dangerous Sports

Since the football game became an official sports, its popularity has increased to a great height that the tournaments can get incredible viewers at the time of this game. But we have to remember that it is not a very easy and safe game for the players.

Rugby is a big-impact collision sport, in which players have to use extreme force in the process to get and maintain possession of the given ball. Therefore injuries are very common and frequent – the probability of a player getting some injuries in a season can be predicted as high as 90% in some researches, depending on the rules used.

The maximum number of injuries, nearly as 75% happens at the time of the body contact or collision, such as in the process of tackle and run. Two-thirds of all hit injuries take place during the tackle. During the time of this game one head injury or serious concussion per match is a very common incident, and  those concussion  are also very common in the game of the children’s as well, traumatic and repetitive brain injury has become a routine event during this body contact game.

A  close relation between repeat concussions and mild cognitive impairment has been found  in  the young adult male who are also rugby players and also their  association with various mental problems like, depression, memory loss and also in some cases an occurrence of poor verbal fluency.

Some researchers have also sorted out the evidence of a relation between the repeat concussions and chronic traumatic mental disease, which is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain, which can be  found in the people who have  a history of  some sort of repetitive brain trauma. There is an link with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions also have been found. This problem of degeneration can also bring with it many other problems like memory loss, confusion, impaired judgment, impulse control problems, aggression, and depression and, also in many cases, the problems of dementia.

What could be a serious matter, though, this game has the strong potential for the occurrence of various head and neck injuries as the rugby players do not wear any helmets. Therefore, when the two players collide head to head with each other in a game, the consequences can be dire and very concerning as well. Fortunately, there are some rules that limit and cut the dangers of the head to head contact.

We all know that children are very vulnerable to the injuries such like concussion and they in many cases take longer time to recover, therefore the government’s idea to increase the participation of students in rugby in many schools, in the absence of a particular precaution against the injury, is really a matter of a big worry.
