I frequently encounter this salutation in letters, emails, and messages. But what does that even mean? What happens if we’re not?

Of course, we intend to say that we hope (Mention the disease) hasn’t affected you, but we also mean that we hope you’re in good mental, emotional, and spiritual health. The well-being, sometimes called shalom, is the complete tranquility of God. If you haven’t experienced (disease name), you probably know someone who has by now.

How can we find serenity in the midst of this extremely frightening period and as the first lockdown is approaching its one-year anniversary? Don’t get me wrong; I’ve experienced physical symptoms of anxiety like inner trembling, lack of sleep, racing heart, diminished capacity, and mental confusion.

I’ve also experienced low points, been annoyed, worn out, and lonely at times, and I’ve had to pray and ask for hope and other things because I’ve needed them so badly. But there are some spiritual activities that I’m finding to be really beneficial and that might help you as well.

Some of us now have additional positions and duties. Last week at the staff meeting, we prayed for the young families in our congregation, many of whom are working and homeschooling, as well as the grandparents who are now raising their grandchildren.

I’ve discovered that I now cling to Jesus more than I ever have. Greater security and delight in the routine have been made possible by learning to further surrender, to reject trying to manage the situation, have a simpler faith, be silent, and have a deeper sense of thankfulness. Holding each day lightly has allowed God to break up my activity, and I’ve noticed Him moving more visibly in the ordinary in fresh and lovely ways.

It can be challenging to comply with safety regulations and our need to adapt; perhaps the time has come to provide us with the tools to do so. Whatever that looks like, I hope you find a secure environment where you can accomplish that with others. If not, kindly get in touch so that we can put you in touch with others. We don’t have to struggle on our own because we are a part of God’s family. Even though close, sustaining relationships are hard to come by, when we do find someone we can be ourselves around who accepts us for who we are, we are truly blessed.

It’s been helpful to have the cross in mind. The scene of everything, where Jesus took on all of the suffering caused by death, illness, and separation. In our own strength, we are powerless. Due to this, I am unable to post a blog that exhorts us to do more or do harder, especially in light of the fact that we are only now beginning to digest and heal from (Mention the year).

My hope is that we start to hear God speak to us once more about His love and fatherly care and that He recognizes our struggles and wants to embrace us and provide us with the truth. I’ll end by mentioning how powerfully I came upon this again through a lovely made-up letter. Allow this reality to be overlaid on your current circumstance using verses from genesis to revelation. Instead of trying harder or doing better, take these statements like a child would and live your entire life as if (with faith) they are true.

I may not be familiar to you, but I am extremely familiar with you. I am aware of your sitting and standing times. Even the tiny hairs on your head are counted, and I know all of your ways.

You are the reflection of me. You are my progeny, and in me, you are alive and moving and have your existence. Before you were ever conceived, I knew you. When I was planning Creation, I picked you. You weren’t an error because I have recorded every day of your life in my book. I knew exactly when you would be born and where you would live. You were made in a terrifying and lovely way. 

Those who are unfamiliar with me have misrepresented me. I am the total embodiment of love, not cold and irritable. And because you are my child and I am your father, I want to shower my love on you. I provide for you in a way that your earthly father could never because I am the ideal father. I have always had hope for you because I have eternal love for you. I have numerous thoughts about you and I sing with joy over you. Being my prized property, I will never stop doing well to you.

You receive me if you accept the gift of My Son, and nothing will ever again be able to serve you from my love. I’ll host the biggest party ever in paradise if you come home.
