It felt extremely bad after getting the request for flexible working hours. I would like to inform you that I can not accept such a request because it will lead to an insufficient outcome. If an employee asks to work for only two days a week.

Then definitely, there is insufficient work to be carried out during the periods an employee is requesting to work. If there is insufficient work then no targets will be completed and as a result, the company will face an ultimate loss. 

If there is no profit then sooner or later the company has to shut down. So, it is never advisable for the committee to accept the request for flexible working hours. If it is accepted, then the company will have to deal according to its employees, and it will be a difficult task to perform.

It is always good to have one boss rather than too many. If there are flexible working hours, then everybody will be his boss. They will do work according to their convenience rather than a company’s need.

I am sorry to inform you that we cannot accept your request for flexible working hours because if an employee submits flexible work and request to leave an hour early every day then how could we recruit someone to work just one hour per day?

It will be a difficult task for us to search for someone who will work for us for just one hour per day and even if we get any person then a company has to incur an additional cost to pay him on an hourly basis. So it was not beneficial to go for flexible working hours for the company.

To search for a candidate for an hour, a company has to incur advertisement costs also. It will be a loss for a company to do flexible working hours.

I hope that being a part of the company, you will never let your company face any losses. It will be not a good option to opt for. It is always necessary to be bound under certain regulations to give 100% to the company.

I would like to inform you that I can not accept your flexible working because of the burden of additional costs which the company has to incur.

If any of the employees want to work overtime then he would demand more salary or extra payment so it will create clashes among other employees or it might convert into big arguments.

So, to avoid all such differences it is advisable by the committee that you should not ask for such changes because it will not be going to work for a longer time.

There should always be certain rules which have to be followed by everyone in the company and those rules should not get molded in any circumstances. 

It is always easy to demand some changes in the company but we also have to think about the consequences after making the changes. Making changes in the working environment is not a bad idea but that changes should bring some benefit to the company.

There is no need to take the burden of an additional cost for getting something more and that more will never make a difference.

Letter to Decline the flexible working request because quality will suffer

I appreciate the idea of flexible working hours requests but do not think that it will be an appropriate change for our company because if we do so then we will have to suffer from the quality of our work.

If some people will come late from the fixed timing then they must be already tired from their home or other stuff so they may not be able to work effectively and efficiently.

If some people will go early then the fixed timings then there might be a possibility that the work which has to be done is not completed. The quality or standards will be going to suffer if we accept the request for flexible working hours.

It is extremely difficult from our side to take such decisions without considering their pros and cons. If we go for your request then definitely we will have to suffer a lot of cons which is not good for the name of a company.

Flexible working hours will bring no positive changes but it will bring laziness and carefree behavior in employees. 

I hope that you also want our company to grow and in every aspect but it is not possible if we let everybody come according to their preferences.

There should always be some rules and regulations which have to follow by every employee of the company irrespective of their designation. Hoping for a positive response from your side.

Decline the flexible working request due to a struggle to meet consumer demand

This letter is in response to the flexible working request and I would like to inform you that I cannot accept the request for flexible working hours because if we adopt such a policy then we will have to struggle to meet consumer demand on time.

If I will free my employees to visit early or late than the set timings then it will create a lot of chaos and we will be unable to complete our target on time.

If we have to complete our target by 7 in the evening then we will never be able to do so because all of the employees will reach the office according to their comfort zone. 

I like this idea and I don’t want to demotivate you but this is not the need for our company. We have to meet consumer demand daily and this can not be done single-handedly.

We need a lot of teams with different people and the teams cannot work efficiently if I leave timings of arrival and departure on them.

People will start blaming each other and the orders will start pending. Ultimately, the consumers and the prestige of the company will have to suffer.

So, I hope that you will understand now that this is not the kind of change which we have to make in our company. I also hope that you will start accepting the present timings as soon as possible. It is the best we have now. Hoping for the cooperation and dedication from all of your sides.
