I am writing this letter to bring to your kind notice that there has been a sudden increase in work hours since two weeks. This has disturbed my work -life balance and has given rise to tensions in my personal life. The work pressure has decreased my mental and emotional balance and well being. Before two months due to strict timelines and increase of workload, my manager asked me to work for extra four hours beyond my shift. He told me it was temporary for a week and I can continue with my normal schedule after a week.
I agreed to do so and my project deliverables were submitted to client on time. By normal rule, I should continue to work for nine hours as per my shift but since one and half months though I complete my work on time and not having any extra work, still my manager intimated that my work hours have been increased to twelve hours. I am surprised that I did not get any prior intimation regarding this. It has been quite exhausting working for so long hours since one and half month without any reason. My productivity and enthusiasm has been in negative direction since that day and I don’t feel like working anymore in this organisation.
It would be a great help if you could investigate more on this matter on the sudden rise in work hours which is affecting me adversely.
